Recommended tools and plans
Choose by workflow, included capacity and the limitations below.
For one conventional WordPress school

CourseGlade LMS
Tier 1 includes the current Pro feature set for $59: lessons, assessments, certificates, drip and payments. Higher tiers mainly add site activations.
Keep in mind: No SCORM/xAPI imports, public workflow API or guest course access. AI Studio uses your API key; built-in recurring payments use Stripe.

OnlineCourseHost.com
One code is $99 for 3 course slots and hosted school pages, with unlimited student enrolments. It fits a creator who already has a suitable video host.
Keep in mind: Native video hosting is excluded. The Pro community has a non-monthly contributor cap; extra codes do not automatically remove it.

Skillplate
Tier 1 combines unlimited course count with 15 stored video hours and 15,000 streaming minutes per month. Check likely viewing time before moving to a higher tier.
Keep in mind: Sales commission and payment-provider fees remain. Native communities are not established; current founder confirmation says Discord. White-label removal costs extra and is non-refundable.

Mini Course Generator
Mini Course Generator organizes short lessons into collections with interactive questions and hosted media. Start with the entry tier when its course and storage limits cover the library; estimate AI usage by the exact generation operations you need.
Keep in mind: SCORM is a higher-tier capability. MCP availability is not enterprise REST API access or learner SSO; those enterprise capabilities are outside the lifetime plan.

Open eLMS Learning Generator
Plan 1 provides 3 course generations and 1 video generation per month for $59. It can fit an internal trainer with a separate place to deliver the content.
Keep in mind: Lower plans restrict distribution to internal use. Three-code redemption and Plan 3 resale wording conflict; get written clarification before commercial production.

Academy LMS
Academy advertises a WordPress school with multi-instructor management and SCORM import. It is worth investigating when existing SCORM material rules out CourseGlade.
Keep in mind: The WordPress.org core listing was temporarily closed pending review in the WordPress.org listing. Resolve trusted installation and update access before purchase; this is not an immediate production-launch recommendation.
Buy nowExplore Academy LMS’s features and plansChoose a school platform or an authoring tool first
OnlineCourseHost and Skillplate host the selling and learning experience. CourseGlade and Academy place that operation on WordPress, where you control hosting and also maintain it. Open eLMS and Mini Course Generator focus on producing learning material that may be delivered through a separate system.
If you already have a school, replacing it just to obtain an AI course draft may create unnecessary migration work. If you have only a document, buying a generator still leaves learner access, payments and reporting to arrange.
Count video delivery separately from uploaded content
Skillplate separates stored hours from monthly streaming minutes. A two-hour course watched by 200 people represents 24,000 minutes before repeat viewing, even though the uploaded video is only two hours long. Unlimited courses and contacts do not make streaming unlimited.
OnlineCourseHost’s current lifetime offer uses external video hosting. WordPress tools can use self-hosted files or external providers, each with their own bills. Compare the full delivery cost and privacy controls for your expected audience, not just the one-time licence.
Do not treat all AI allowances as the same credit
Mini Course Generator has operation-specific AI charges. Open eLMS separates course generation from PowerPoint, video and other exports. CourseGlade connects your own API key. Skillplate lists dollar-valued Gemini credits with renewal rules not established in the offer.
Write down what you plan to produce: course drafts, thumbnails, narration and final video exports. Include revisions. If a cap or top-up rule is unclear, keep that uncertainty in the budget instead of converting every credit label into a finished course.
SCORM support has a direction
A school that imports a package and an authoring tool that exports one perform opposite sides of a workflow. CourseGlade explicitly excludes SCORM and xAPI imports. Academy advertises SCORM import; OnlineCourseHost maps to a Pro plan with a limited import count. Open eLMS advertises export to a compatible LMS.
Before moving a training library, check package version, completion status, quiz reporting and how updates count. A general integration label is not proof that historical learner progress or every assessment setting transfers.
A community, a commission and a custom domain are separate purchases
OnlineCourseHost’s community contributor cap does not reset each month. Skillplate’s founder answer confirms Discord delivery rather than an already-shipped native community. Neither should be selected for a large paid community merely because the sales page lists unlimited students or communities.
Likewise, a custom domain is not the same as complete white-label removal. Skillplate sells that removal separately and marks it non-refundable. Its zero-commission add-on is another purchase. Compare those costs with expected gross sales before choosing a larger licence or buying every add-on.
Leave room for the work of moving a school
OnlineCourseHost’s founder says migration does not preserve learner progress. CourseGlade’s course exporter is not a full backup of every enrolment and progress record. For an established school, the effort of rebuilding courses and explaining lost progress can outweigh a licence saving.
Keep the existing system and backups until a representative course, payment, refund, certificate and learner journey have been evaluated.
Feature comparison
Use the same checklist for each tool. Plan limits, paid extras and features that need confirmation are shown separately.
Features are grouped by documented coverage. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is incomplete, not that a feature is absent.
Check each product’s plan notes for tier limits and additional costs. Feature coverage is not a quality rating.
Buying questions
Which option fits one WordPress school?
CourseGlade Tier 1 is a candidate for ordinary lesson, quiz, certificate and payment workflows. Its lack of SCORM imports, public API and guest access can rule it out. Academy warrants investigation when SCORM matters, after resolving current free-core installation access.
Which deal includes video hosting?
Skillplate lists stored video hours and monthly streaming minutes by tier. OnlineCourseHost’s current lifetime offer requires external video hosting. WordPress hosting and video-provider charges depend on your setup.
Which deal should I buy for selling generated courses?
Check commercial distribution rights first. Open eLMS Plans 1–2 are internal-use restricted, and Plan 3 has conflicting wording. Do not choose it for resale until the vendor confirms the terms. Hosting and payment functions may require a separate school platform.
Can I compare the AI credit counts directly?
No. The units and billing models differ. Compare the exact operation and output you need, including revisions, provider bills and export counts.
Does a higher tier remove every limitation?
No. CourseGlade higher tiers primarily add sites. Extra OnlineCourseHost codes add course and website capacity rather than an unlimited community. Skillplate still has finite streaming on its top tiers, and Open eLMS keeps separate output counters.
