Recommended tools and plans

Choose the smallest plan that covers the required workflow and capacity.

Separate development checkpoints from disaster recovery

WP Reset is useful when a developer repeatedly changes a WordPress database and wants a known baseline. A complete backup also needs the files that a database snapshot does not restore.

Keep an independent file-and-database backup and know how to restore it outside the normal WordPress admin. A checkpoint stored with the same site should not be the only recovery copy.

Choose the actual licence unit

Plugin site licences and cloud-site licences are separate. Tier 2 can activate on fifty sites but has fifteen cloud slots; Tier 3 offers unlimited plugin sites but thirty cloud slots. Each cloud slot has a 3 GB cap.

Measure the database snapshot you need to store. A site with large media files does not necessarily have a large database, and a shop with a large database can exceed the snapshot cap even without many uploads.

Match feature gates to the maintenance workflow

White label is included on every tier. Remote actions and statistics start at Tier 2; staging and full rebranding start at Tier 3. A small portfolio can still need a higher tier for a required operation.

Collections simplify installing known plugins and themes, but do not include the licences for third-party premium products. Keep those entitlements and configuration details in the maintenance process.

Protect changes made after the checkpoint

A database rollback can discard new orders, users or content created after the saved state. Decide what data must survive before choosing a restore operation.

Rehearse recovery on an isolated copy, including a file-changing update and a database-only change. The free plugin or a fresh local installation may be sufficient for basic testing; Pro is most useful when its repeated operations fit an established maintenance routine.

Features are grouped by documented coverage. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is incomplete, not that a feature is absent.

Buying questions

Can WP Reset replace my backup plugin?

No. Its own guidance says it complements conventional backups; database snapshots do not restore every file.

Which tier includes staging?

The current plan matrix includes staging and full rebranding from Tier 3.
