Recommended tools and plans
Match the workflow and its required capacity before choosing a plan.
Starting point: OpenGraph

OpenGraph
Tier 1 suits a small site that fits two templates and 500 hosted images. Choose Tier 2 or 3 for a concrete inventory or layout requirement. Do not buy on the assumption that unlimited bandwidth means unlimited image storage, or that agency client portals already exist.
Keep in mind: Hosted-image allowance does not reset monthly.

Picbolt
Buy for the screenshot and mockup workflow if you repeatedly need premium templates, branding and 4K output. Treat AI as a separately budgeted feature after promotional access ends. If you only make a few basic visuals, start with the free plan before adding another design tool.
Keep in mind: Temporary shared AI credits are not a permanent monthly allowance.

OpenGraph fits websites that need repeatable social-preview images generated from templates. Picbolt fits people dressing screenshots and creating branded mockups for individual posts or product announcements. They can support the same marketing workflow without being substitutes for the same task.
Separate storage from monthly production
OpenGraph’s hosted-image allowance is the number of active stored images, while AI generations and short links have their own monthly limits. Exporting a file manually can support a different hosting workflow; the WordPress integration should not be assumed to write every generated asset into the local media library.
Treat promotional AI as temporary
Picbolt’s unlimited non-AI mockup and export workflow should be evaluated separately from its shared promotional AI credit pool. The pool has a time/exhaustion condition and later usage may require a separately billed provider key. It is not a permanent monthly AI allowance.
Use the smallest useful workflow
A basic screenshot editor may be enough for occasional annotated images. Picbolt is more relevant when its reusable layout and export tools save repeated work. Start OpenGraph with the hosted inventory and template count needed for the site, then allow room for future pages; deleting old images may affect previews after social caches refresh.
Feature comparison
Use the same checklist for each tool. Plan limits, paid extras and features that need confirmation are shown separately.
Features are grouped by documented coverage. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is incomplete, not that a feature is absent.
Check each product’s plan notes for tier limits and additional costs. Feature coverage is not a quality rating.
Buying questions
Does OpenGraph hosted-image capacity renew monthly?
It is an active hosted-image inventory limit. AI generation and short-link creation use separate monthly allowances.
Does Picbolt include unlimited lifetime AI generation?
No. The non-AI workflow is separate from a shared promotional AI pool with a time/exhaustion condition and possible later provider charges.
