Recommended tools and plans
Set aside enough monthly capacity for rewriting and finishing, not only chapter generation.
For regular manuscripts that need revision room

AIWriteBook
Tier 2 provides 1,000 monthly credits and adds audiobook tools. It is a candidate when an outline, chapter drafting, edits and formatting would crowd the entry allowance. Reserve credits for finishing the manuscript instead of spending the whole balance on the first draft.
Keep in mind: Editing and fact checking remain your work. Audio rates conflict in official material, and Expert Book beta terms are unsettled; neither should be the reason to assume this tier covers every production cost.

Write down chapter count, models, planned illustrations, formatting and the likely number of revision passes. Compare that total with the monthly allowance, rather than assuming one book has one standard cost.
When an existing editor is enough
If you already have a complete manuscript and only need light proofreading, an ordinary document editor with careful human review may be enough. A new credit-based platform is more useful when its outline-to-export workflow solves repeated work.
Feature comparison
Use the same checklist for each tool. Plan limits, paid extras and features that need confirmation are shown separately.
Features are grouped by documented coverage. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is incomplete, not that a feature is absent.
Check each product’s plan notes for tier limits and additional costs. Feature coverage is not a quality rating.
Buying questions
Which tier is enough for one book?
It depends on the workflow. The regular-book example here uses 470 credits before optional research and extra editing. Expert Book uses a different unlock model with unresolved post-beta terms.
Do monthly credits roll over?
No. The founder states monthly balances are replaced, not accumulated. Purchased packs have a separate three-month expiry.
Does BYOK make everything one credit?
No. The founder says supported actions outside Expert Book can use one platform credit plus your external API charge. Expert Book keeps its flat unlock; special research workflows may use vendor-side resources.
