Hedy AI helps during a conversation as well as afterwards: it can suggest follow-up questions, explain unfamiliar terms and produce notes you can revisit. Its lifetime offer is an individual Pro licence, so the buying decision is mainly about your meeting workload, device and data-handling requirements.
Choose Pro if recurring individual meetings justify the unlock and Hedy can capture your actual audio setup. A team workspace, unlimited automatic coaching throughout a long workshop, and fully local processing on any device are three different requirements this purchase does not automatically satisfy.

Plan notes
Unlimited sessions and session length do not remove the automatic-suggestion limit.
Teams and Enterprise are separate from the Pro lifetime plan.
No stacking; future Pro updates included.

Automatic suggestions stop at their per-session allowance.
Local AI has stricter hardware and performance requirements than basic app access.
One Pro plan: decide by workload and device
The AppSumo Pro plan costs $179 once. There is no code stack to unlock Teams or Enterprise. A founder clarification separates those organization products from the Pro entitlement, even though Pro includes sharing and automation. Multiple devices for one person are not the same thing as licences for several colleagues.
The direct free plan offers five hours per month and limits live insights to the first 30 minutes of a session. If that covers your calls, begin there. Pro becomes useful when that allowance or the shorter coaching window interrupts regular work; a lifetime licence does not create a saving if free access already meets the need.
Unlimited meetings still have a coaching limit
Pro lists unlimited session duration but automatic suggestions are limited to 120 minutes per session. A long workshop can therefore fit the capture allowance while exceeding automatic coaching time. Do not describe the entire feature set as unlimited.
For a workshop longer than the coaching window, decide whether the transcript and later notes are enough. The offer does not establish that every manually requested AI action becomes unavailable at that point, nor does it guarantee unlimited automated suggestions by restarting sessions. Buy around the stated entitlement, not a presumed workaround.
Check the hardware and the audio path
The offer specifies iPhone 12 or later, Android 12 or later, Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 15 or later, and Windows 10 or later with a dedicated GPU recommended. Those are baseline app requirements, not proof that every speech engine or local model works equally well. Windows remains described as beta in the listing.
Hedy’s founder says desktop capture uses the system’s default audio output rather than an independent output-device selector. A headset selected only inside the meeting app can therefore matter. Before relying on it, check a short call with your usual headset, speakers and microphone, including the other person’s voice.
Local transcription and local AI are separate choices
Hedy offers on-device speech recognition and optional Local AI for analysis on supported hardware. Choosing local transcription alone does not make cloud summaries local. For a fully local conversation workflow, review the speech engine, AI Processing setting, Cloud Sync, audio sync, sharing and automatic recap delivery separately.
Local AI needs a downloaded model and sufficient device memory. It supports selected Apple, Windows and Android hardware, with smaller mobile models and no local AI in the web app. The vendor warns that local models can be slower and recommends turning off automatic suggestions during long local sessions to reduce load. If live coaching is the main reason to buy, that tradeoff deserves attention.
What the lifetime payment does not cover
Teams and Enterprise are separate products. External services connected through Zapier, n8n or other automation retain their own costs, limits and account requirements. An included API or webhook does not include hosting your workflow or every connected subscription.
Pro does not require a separate model API key for the standard Hedy cloud workflow shown in the offer. Optional processing providers and future organization features should not be assumed free. Confirm the relevant entitlement before committing a client workflow that depends on a particular provider or team permission.
What buyer reports tell us to evaluate
Recent AppSumo buyers describe regular desktop/mobile use and useful summaries. One purchaser describes sending call transcripts and recaps to a customer system through webhooks. These are attributed reports about their setups, not a guarantee that your softphone will behave the same way.
The useful next checks are practical: whether both sides of a call are captured, whether names and decisions survive summarization, whether your language works with the chosen engine, and whether a shared link exposes only the intended material. Favor that evidence over the number of features in a promotional screenshot.

USE CASES
What problems does Hedy AI solve?
01
Remember the follow-up question before the call ends
A client mentions a dependency or unfamiliar term, and by the time you write it down the discussion has moved on.
How to use it
Start a session with the appropriate microphone and system audio.
Use live suggestions or ask a focused question during the discussion.
Check the resulting notes and add agreed owners and deadlines.
What this helps you do: The workflow can surface questions while there is still somebody present to answer them.
Limitations: Suggestions are generated advice, not a factual record; verify technical details and respect the per-session coaching cap.
02
Find the context behind a recurring client decision
A decision spans several calls, leaving information scattered across individual transcripts.
How to use it
Group related sessions in a Topic.
Ask cross-session questions about the decision or outstanding issue.
Export or share the relevant summary after reviewing it.
What this helps you do: Related calls become easier to consult without rereading every transcript.
Limitations: Sharing, cloud sync and connected automation can move information beyond the recording device; choose settings for the actual client data.
BUYER FEEDBACK
What buyers say
Buyer experiences can vary with the plan, product version and workflow.
Reported strength
Everyday notes and support
Recent purchasers praise cross-device use, summaries and responsive support. The webhook report is a useful workflow example, but it does not establish accuracy or compatibility for every call.
Mixed feedback
Mobile resource use deserves a device check
An older independent Reddit user praises daily note-taking but reports iPhone battery drain and microphone-sharing limitations. This is a dated individual account, not proof that every current version or device has the same problem.
Hedy AI images
Hedy AI, MeetMouse or OTO AI
MeetMouse is the narrower alternative for Mac users primarily needing an after-call record and local processing. Its requirements include macOS 14.2 or later, reduced Intel capability and unresolved FaceTime capture claims. Hedy is the broader candidate when live suggestions, mobile use and Topics matter together.
OTO AI answers questions during a call with your own model API key. Its founder says a complete post-meeting transcript and summary archive are not part of the current version. Choose OTO for that narrower live-answer job only; choose Hedy when notes and later retrieval are essential. Neither comparison establishes superior recognition accuracy without using the same calls.
Features are grouped by documented coverage. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is incomplete, not that a feature is absent.

No. The founder distinguishes individual Pro access from Teams and Enterprise. Sharing a session does not establish organization seats or centralized administration.
Are Hedy meetings really unlimited?
The Pro offer lists unlimited sessions and length, but automatic suggestions have a 120-minute limit per session. These are separate allowances.
Can Hedy keep a meeting entirely on my device?
Supported hardware can use local speech and Local AI. Cloud Sync, audio sync, sharing and automated recap delivery need separate review. The default cloud AI workflow is not fully local.
Does it need an OpenAI API key?
The standard Pro workflow does not require one in the offer. That differs from OTO AI, where a supported provider API key is required.
Can I use the same privacy setup in the browser?
The vendor lists Cloud AI and Off in the web app, not Local AI. Device capability and processing choice must be checked individually.
